Job Description
Join Walmart’s Cassandra Platform team to design, operate, and continuously improve one of the largest distributed database environments in the world. This role combines production ownership with hands-on engineering focused on automation, reliability, and AI-driven efficiency.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Experience building backend or platform software using Java, Python, Ruby, and shell scripting
- Experience operating and troubleshooting distributed systems in production environments
- Ability to identify manual processes and replace them with scalable automation
- Experience participating in on-call and incident response
- Experience collaborating across engineering, cloud, and reliability teams
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
