Job Description
Peraton is seeking a Splunk Software Engineer to join our team near Annapolis Junction, MD. Our dynamic team delivers information security solutions that facilitate secure data flows and the detection/prevention of unauthorized behaviors, performs system security vulnerability assessments and solution development, provide enterprise-level network, server, desktop, and application security services. Peraton serves as a valued partner to essential government agencies across the intelligence, space, cyber, defense, civilian, health, and state and local markets. The ideal candidate will need to possess experience in Splunk Architecture as well as building and designs.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline with eight (8) years of software engineering (SWE) experience; master’s degree in computer science or related discipline with six (6) years of SWE experience; PhD with three (3) years of experience. 14 years of SWE experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Must have at least one of the following Splunk certifications: Splunk Certified User, Splunk Certified Power User, Splunk Certified Admin, Splunk Accredited Core Implementation, Splunk Accredited Consultant
- Ability to design and develop software solutions by analyzing stakeholder requirements and conferring with users or system engineers.
- Ability to build a new Splunk instance to replace an existing system’s capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background of creating and managing app and its components.
- Proficiency with Splunk component utilization (e.g. Indexer loads and requirements, search head peering, etc), component resourcing, inter-component communications and tradeoffs and underlying platform requirements.
- Knowledge of two of the following programming languages: Perl, Python, SQL, Shell.
- Experience providing architecture-level design to support and operate Splunk using security information and event management (SIEM) or security event management (SEM) best practices and Splunk enterprise security.
