Job Description
State Farm is seeking Software Engineers with 4 years of working experience with Java and OO Design Principles to join their team. The role focuses on modernization efforts within Property & Casualty systems. This is a hybrid position, requiring candidates to live within a 180-mile radius of a hub location (Bloomington, IL or Richardson, TX) and plan to work both from home and in the office. The company emphasizes being good neighbors and investing in communities. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 4 years working experience with Java
- OO Design Principles
- Experience with Full Stack Development (Java/J2EE, Python, JavaScript, React, Node.js, SQL, SOAP/REST, Spring Framework, Splunk, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and leveraging tools like GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins and Docker
- Experience with test automation and various products (Karate, Cucumber, Codecept, etc.)
- Experience with version control tools such as Git
- Knowledge of agile methodologies
- Ability to collaborate and build relationships locally & across locations
- Clear communication skills, both verbal & written
- Strong aptitude and demonstrated ability to learn new languages and frameworks
- Possess technical curiosity and enthusiasm to learn new technologies and follow industry best-practices and trends
Preferred Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS with hands on experience a plus
- Enthusiasm for innovation, diversity of thought, and new ideas
