Job Description
Akima Data Management is seeking a Software Engineer to provide programming and site development support for PCD's online publication delivery across multiple platforms. This role involves supporting the development of publication-ready digital assets, troubleshooting responsive design layouts and related technologies, and preparing web-ready materials. The engineer will ensure web content meets Section 508 compliance and accessibility standards, provide monthly web analytics reports, and stay current with online scholarly publishing trends to recommend emerging technologies for improving publication time, expanding distribution, meeting data-sharing standards, and increasing audience outreach.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Expert-level experience with WordPress.
- Expert-level experience with JavaScript/jQuery.
- Expert-level experience with CSS3.
- Expert-level experience with HTML5.
- Expert-level experience with AJAX.
- Expert-level experience with Responsive Web Design.
- Expert-level experience with Mobile HTML5 sites.
- Technical production experience within scholarly journal publishing.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude for content or workflow support.
- Video editing experience.
