Job Description
As a Full Stack - Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable software solutions by managing feature implementation, testing, and ongoing support. You will apply advanced programming skills and collaborate across teams to design, develop, and maintain high-quality systems aligned with strategic objectives. About the team: The Philanthropy Engineering team advances Walmart’s commitment to responsible business by developing cloud-native backend services using open-source technologies. Collaborating with engineers, UX designers, and product managers, the team delivers scalable, maintainable solutions supporting initiatives like disaster relief and community programs. Emphasizing technical expertise and innovation, the team applies agile methodologies and leverages skills in React-Native, React.js, Spring Boot, APIs, Java, and cloud databases. Members focus on producing reliable, efficient software aligned with business goals, enhancing community engagement through impactful technology and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
- Strong experience delivering scoped features through collaborative engineering teams.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages including Java.
- Design and implement user interface components for JavaScript-based web and mobile applications using React ecosystem
- Demonstrated ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
- Skilled in code review, debugging, and continuous integration/deployment processes.
- Ability to translate complex business problems into actionable technical requirements.
- Strong technical judgment with a focus on quality, performance, and customer impact.
- Effective collaboration and mentorship skills within cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
