Key Highlights
- Tests, analyzes, and maintains software systems to ensure compliance with industry, customer, and internal quality, safety, security, and certification standards.
- Partners with appropriate stakeholders to understand system definitions, system-level requirements, and software requirements and models, validating that the software system meets customer and operational needs.
- Conducts software system-level analyses to identify risks, issues, and opportunities, and integrates mitigation actions throughout the software lifecycle.
- Performs code reviews of test tools to ensure alignment with the testing needs of the software system.
- Monitors and reviews test completion, verification processes, and issue resolution for software systems.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to Obtain U.S. Secret – Final Post-Start (U.S. Citizenship Required)
- Strong familiarity with software testing concepts and software/hardware systems, including the ability to review detailed software test procedures and software design documents
- Comfortable following Agile software development methodologies and software development lifecycle
- Comfortable working in Linux environments and using terminals/command line interfaces
- Comfortable leading or coordinating a test team or test activities, including task delegation, mentoring, and progress tracking
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for status reporting and test documentation
- Experience with automated test platforms such as Cypress, Mocha, Chai, and their associated programming languages (e.g., JavaScript)
- Experience using conversational AI and other AI capabilities to accelerate development (with careful review and healthy skepticism of AI results)
- Experience managing test schedules, resources, and priorities in a laboratory or simulation environment
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools, such as Gitlab or Jira
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate team collaboration and stakeholder reporting
- Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams (software developers, systems engineers, etc.)
- Comfortable and willing to train and mentor junior test engineers
