Job Description
The Software Engineer supports development and delivery of high-quality, embedded software and associated test infrastructure. This position supports a portfolio of Space programs, from ASICs to payload boxes. Their expertise in identifying and rectifying defects in both products and processes also contributes significantly to meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality, reliable products to our customers. You will work as a part of a team comprised of software, systems, electrical, computer, and mechanical engineers to design and develop software products to support Space hardware systems.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience developing software for embedded systems.
- Proficient in the software development life cycle and experience with C/C++ development.
- Experience with Real Time Operating Systems such as VxWorks, embedded Linux, and device tree development.
- Experience working with bring-up, integration, test, and debug of electronic hardware systems.
- Experience developing documentation to capture software design details as well as test plans and procedures.
- Must be able to work in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Space (or DoD related) programs.
- Experience in reviewing and utilizing technical content such as hardware drawings and electrical specifications.
- Experience with GenAI tools in support of software development.
- Familiarity with System Engineering concepts such as Model Based Engineering and design tools such as MagicDraw.
- Understanding of and experience with deployment and operation of applications on Linux systems.
- Familiarity with ASIC design and test methodology, including radiation qualification testing.
