Key Highlights
- The primary subject matter for this role will be the Flight Management System, which is responsible for Flight Planning/navigation, guidance, control, display, and automation of aircraft.
- Works with customers and leads internal teams to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
- Understands how to lead, plan and accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal network; understands the cultures of organizations.
- Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
- Oversees, tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5 or more years of industry experience in design, implementation
- Work-related programming experience with any of the following software development languages: Ada, C, C++, C#, JAVA, FORTRAN, and Python
- Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle
- Ability to conceive, develop, optimize, maintain and modify electronic/electrical system designs based on requirements
- Ability to provide technical coordination with internal and external suppliers and customers
- Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures, including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements
- Ability to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Level 5: 10 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working with DOORS to generate and analyze system requirements.
- Experience with Waterfall, Agile Processes and project management tools including Confluence, Jira, Version One.
- Experience with MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC-429 communication protocols.
- Experience with RTCA DO-178, DO-254 and DO-160.
- Experience with MIL-HDBK-516C.
- Have one of the following: Military/Commercial Aircrew experience, Private Pilot License, or Flight Instructor certification.
