The Opportunity: We are looking for Versatile, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale in our Pismo team. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- 3+ years of experience with Java / Groovy.
- Experience with AWS services: SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, S3, and EventBridge.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
- Experience with REST APIs.
- Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
- Strong testing mindset with experience in unit and integration testing.
- Knowledge of SQL (MySQL or PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB).
- Experience working in high-scale and high-availability environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Docker/Containers.
- Knowledge of messaging systems and event-driven architectures.
- Understanding of observability practices (monitoring, tracing, alerting).
- Background in Agile methodologies and production support.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or other IaC tools.
- Experience with distributed systems
- Background in high-scale environments
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Containers/Docker
- Familiarity with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, SQS)
- Experience with observability and production support
- Experience in the financial industry
- Experience with BigData tools, such as Spark and Databricks or AWS EMR.
