Special Requirements US Citizenship Required to obtain DHS Public Trust Active DHS Clearance (preferred) The Gist… The Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, and deploys front-end and back-end components for enterprise applications. This role works with APIs, databases, and user interfaces to deliver functional, secure, and scalable features. Software Engineers collaborate closely with product, design, and technical teams to ensure solutions meet user needs and program objectives. You bring cross-functional expertise, combining deep specialization in a core discipline with the versatility and motivation to contribute across adjacent areas.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree preferred.
- Experience levels range from Senior (5+ years) to Subject Matter Expert (SME) (8+ years) in software development.
- Proficiency in React, Java, Python, and Docker; experience with other modern programming languages and frameworks is a plus.
- Strong understanding of API development and integration, databases, and UI/UX principles.
- Knowledge of Agile development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience mentoring or guiding less experienced engineers is preferred at senior levels.
- Stay current on AI coding tools and apply them in an ethical and appropriate manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- AI Expertise: In-depth understanding of AI technologies, including Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and AI-driven automation.
- Experience with security practices, their implications on solutions architecture, and implementing controls using SecOps patterns.
