Job Description

eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 2, Software Engineer in Austin, TX. This role involves leading and architecting risk domain data solutions, ensuring alignment with eBay’s processes and tools. The engineer will lead a team of 6-8 members to analyze requirements, design solutions, and oversee code reviews to achieve project excellence. Key responsibilities include developing and optimizing integrated data layers critical for risk management strategies such as eMBG loss prevention and buyer/seller segmentation. The role also involves designing optimized batch and streaming pipelines for critical data flows, ensuring seamless integration across cross-functional systems to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency. Additionally, the engineer will enhance and maintain eBay’s internal data processing and scheduling platform, Data Lake Studio, implement functionalities for streamlining data movement, and develop an operations center for job status monitoring. Partial telecommuting is permitted from within a commutable distance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field such as Electrical/Electronics Engineering plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Designing and implementing high scale Hadoop infrastructure (5 years)
  • Using Flink to build scalable real-time data pipeline (3 years)
  • Spark for high performance ETL pipeline (5 years)
  • Using Kafka to build scalable real-time data pipeline (3 years)
  • Python scalable and performance efficient batch data pipeline (5 years)
  • Developing Cline plug-in enhancements to build an agentic framework for pipeline deployment (2 years)
  • Using Neo4J for building dependency analysis and SQL solutions (5 years)
  • Using LangGraph for building content analysis agents for automated table discovery (2 years)
  • Using Apache Iceberg for building high volume partition tables (5 years)
  • Using Docker for building applications for real-time reporting (5 years)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
