Field Engineering - E&I/DCS

Required Qualifications

• • Bachelor’s degree in electrical and instrumentation engineering, or a related subject from an accredited university and 20 years of progressive construction or electrical engineering experience; or in lieu of a degree, 25 years of relevant experience in the MENA region and a sound understanding of the cultural norms and requirements of the region
• • Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces.
• • Strong English language communication and report writing skills.
• • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be a team player and have a knowledge sharing approach.
• • Ability to solve problems by thinking laterally and be able to understand the needs and requirements of the client and other entities – to provide technical compliance and trainings.
• • Must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team and manage challenging multi-cultural relationships.
• • Must be self-driven and able to plan and execute work without direct supervision from senior management and/or peers.
• Required Knowledge and Skills:
• • Thorough knowledge of all phases of engineering, design, construction and field activities.
• • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Design Suite software programs, ability to prepare reports, and experience in 3D and 4D modelling software
• • Working knowledge of Set Route application
• • Previous supervisory experience within electrical discipline
• • Knowledge and application of Zero Accident Safety Philosophy.
• • Broad knowledge of Construction Standard Work Process Procedures.
• • Thorough knowledge of current industry standards.
• • Broad knowledge of the requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan, and the Bechtel Core Processes to area of responsibility.
• • Knowledge of company and project quality policies.
