Job Description
This role focuses on owning the delivery of scoped features or model components through collaborative engineering teams. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, iteration, testing, and ongoing support of assigned services, APIs, user interfaces, or ML model components. The position requires a product-driven mindset, aligning outcomes with broader platform, system, and domain objectives. Key responsibilities include writing clean, efficient code in various languages, driving the full software development lifecycle (CI/CD, automated testing, observability, monitoring, maintenance), and building automation scripts. The role also involves integrating AI agents and ML components, leveraging GenAI tools, and applying object-oriented programming principles. Additionally, the engineer will assist in converting high-level designs to detailed designs, evaluating trade-offs for scalable and secure systems, participating in design reviews, and mentoring peers. Stakeholder engagement to define business problems, translate them into technical requirements, and define success metrics is crucial. The role includes monitoring application performance, ensuring adherence to project timelines, promoting engineering excellence, and demonstrating technical ownership of deliverables.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Coding and designing backend applications using Java with object-oriented programming principles
- Building and maintaining backend services using Spring Boot, including configuring application components and service layers
- Designing and implementing RESTful APIs using Java-based frameworks, including handling HTTP requests and responses
- Working with cloud-based data storage solutions to support scalable backend systems
- Deploying and supporting backend services in containerized environments using Kubernetes-based platforms to support scalable and distributed systems
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines to build, test, and deploy backend services using automated delivery tools
- Using caching technologies to improve application performance and reduce data access latency
- Implementing asynchronous processing and concurrency patterns in backend services to support efficient and non-blocking execution
- Writing and maintaining unit tests using standard Java testing frameworks to validate business logic and improve code reliability
- Performing end-to-end API testing using Postman to validate service behavior across system components
- Monitoring application health and performance using metrics and alerting tools to support reliable backend operations
- Analyzing application logs using centralized logging tools to support troubleshooting and operational visibility
- Using Git-based version control systems to manage source code, including branching and collaborative workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Engineering (any) or related field plus 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Engineering (any) or related field plus 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area
- Experience with languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Rust, Dart, and C++
- Experience with AI agents and ML components
- Experience with GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot
