Job Description
Leidos is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to develop, maintain, integrate, and enhance complex software systems supporting critical mission needs. You will work individually and as part of an engineering team to translate user requirements into software solutions, develop and modify software, integrate capabilities into operational environments, troubleshoot defects, and evaluate software performance. Depending on assignment, the role may also include significant Linux system support, Splunk, scripting, automation, data technologies, and supporting infrastructure. Mission software must perform reliably within complex technical and operational environments. As a Software Engineer, you will help turn requirements into working capabilities while solving software, data, integration, and performance problems throughout the development lifecycle. Your work will contribute to both the functionality of individual software components and their successful integration into larger mission systems.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- TS/SCI with Polygraph upon Application
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Four (4) additional years of Software Engineering experience on projects using similar software processes may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
- 1+ years of experience with Splunk (Project 1)
- 2+ years of experience with databases, Ansible, JSON, JavaScript, and Bash scripting (Project 1)
- 4+ years of experience with Linux (Project 1)
- Experience providing comprehensive support for systems and servers, including operating system and application installation and configuration, daily operations, and troubleshooting (Project 1)
- 2+ years of experience with Splunk, including Splunk Query Language, reporting, dashboards, and visualizations (Project 2)
- 3+ years of experience with Python, databases, JSON, Bash/Shell scripting, Java, and XML (Project 2)
- 3+ years of Linux experience providing system/server support, including operating system and application installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting (Project 2)
- Familiarity with automation, distributed computing, load balancing, network protocols, hardware, virtualization, security architectures, firewalls, and switches (Project 2)
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of data-flow technologies identified for the project, including Niagrafiles, low-latency message transport, smart-collection systems, site-specific distribution management, and relevant protocols (Project 1)
- Working knowledge of Puppet (Project 1)
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) (Project 1)
- Splunk Core Certified Power User certification (Project 2)
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) (Project 2)
