Key Highlights
- Perform Systems Engineering activities to plan, design, develop and verify systems specialising in the System Safety domain.
- Support projects in understanding requirements and design implications pertaining to System Safety and identify potential and realised performance and safety considerations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Lead specific scopes of work in System Safety engineering for projects.
- Actively promote the benefit of System Safety across the organisation and contribute to the development and growth of these disciplines within BDA.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Experience in System Safety Engineering or related discipline in a complex project environment.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of safety-related legislation, standards and safety engineering techniques to product design
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills that enable you to influence outcomes in a team environment.
- A continuous improvement mindset.
- Tertiary degree qualification in engineering or related technical discipline.
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within Defence or complex engineering project environments.
- Preferably RPEQ or CPEng qualified in a relevant discipline or able to gain RPEQ/CPEng certification.
- Experience with Communication Systems.
- Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle management.
- Experience in technical problem solving.
- Experience developing and executing against Systems Engineering artifacts including Systems Engineering Management Plans, and Verification and Validation Plans.
- Experience in soliciting, analyzing and communicating customer requirements in a cross-disciplinary technical environment.
