Job Description
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Pathify’s Australian engineering team. You’ll work across our front end and back end stack, primarily using Python/Django, Angular and TypeScript , as well as emerging AI capabilities including agent workflows built on foundation models such as Gemini. This is a senior individual contributor role. You’ll be expected to take ownership of complex and sometimes ambiguous engineering problems, determine the right technical approach, and deliver high-quality solutions from design through to production.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated capability
- Strong experience building modern web applications across both backend and frontend
- Proficiency in Python and Django — or deep expertise in another Python web framework with the ability to become productive in Django quickly
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills
- Expertise with a modern frontend framework; Angular experience is strongly preferred
- Experience working with foundation models or AI-enabled applications; Gemini experience is an advantage
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs; Django REST Framework experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
- Solid understanding of software design principles, data structures and common architectural patterns
- Strong Git and modern software-development workflow experience
- The ability to independently work through complex problems and make good technical decisions without needing detailed direction
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly
- A track record of helping other engineers improve through mentoring, code review or technical leadership
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia
