Job Description
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is seeking a Software Engineer for its Machine Intelligence and Spectrum Technologies (MIST) Division in Dayton, Ohio. This role involves applied software engineering in radio frequency spectrum domains, including developing, testing, and optimizing radar modes; creating automated solutions for radio frequency signal analysis; and building cloud applications for radio frequency data processing. MIST provides expertise in the radio frequency spectrum for national defense, while the Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL) develops solutions for national security challenges using physics-based modeling, prototype development, and testing across various domains like RF, electronic warfare, and threat analysis.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C, C++, C#, Ruby, Python, Scala, and Groovy
- Extensive knowledge of programming languages, software development, computer operating systems, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), DevOps, Application Programming Interface (API) development, container development, and distributed systems
- Proficiency in programming and coding
- Understanding of fundamentals of computer science
- Experience in software design and architecture development
- Knowledge of algorithms and data structures
- Skills in information analysis
- Experience in software debugging and testing
- Experience working on development teams
- Experience working with sponsors to curate requirements, define sprint work items, set priorities for work backlogs, and organize development teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret, Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance
- Graduate degree in Math, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Programming experience with MATLAB, Python, or C++
- Experience with radar mode development software
