Job Description
The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Twin Software Simulation and Deployment Engineer to support Strategic Space Communications Programs in El Segundo, CA. This position will support the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business unit. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced and Lead Software Engineers. Our team builds software and hardware-based satellite simulators and emulators in support of the world’s highest-performing satellite systems for U.S. government and commercial customers. In this role you will design, implement, test, and maintain software models and system-level simulators that reproduce operational conditions (i.e., simulated scenarios) to enable mission rehearsals and spacecraft operator training. This is an opportunity to support multiple software-based projects in a rapid, agile CI/CD environment using modern technologies and tools. Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 3+ years’ experience with real-time/near real-time simulations packages and development
- 3+ years’ experience with modern programming and scripting languages such as C++, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python, Visual Basic
- Experience with CICD implementation experience for both infrastructure and software deployments with tools such as Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, Puppet, and Azure DevOps
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
- Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Preferred Qualifications
- Level 4: 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience
- Experience developing satellite simulations
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle that includes requirements analysis through Formal Qualification
- Experience with implementing infrastructure and deployment environment related software/tools (e.g., containerization, message brokering, software APIs, etc.)
- Experience with automating software builds, unit tests, and integration tests using a DevOps tool chain
