Job Description
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Software Engineer to be located remotely or in Omaha, NE, in support of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Weather Systems Branch (AFLCMC/ESAW). This position will provide Software Engineering Oversight and Advisory support to the Numerical Weather Models (NWM) program. The role will provide technical guidance on the design, development, and maintenance of secure software solutions, integrated via DevSecOps practices, and ensure security and compliance throughout the Software Development Life Cycle. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on critical national defense systems while working with cutting-edge DevSecOps technologies in a collaborative, mission-focused environment. This is a full-time position located at Offutt AFB, NE.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Must be a US citizen
- Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
- 5+ years supporting the DoW
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience across the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Strong software design and expertise with secure development practices.
- Comprehensive understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
- Proficiency in DevSecOps tools and practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and security integration.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, containerization, and cloud security practices
- Proven experience supporting Department of Defense software development projects
- Understanding of government compliance requirements and security frameworks
- Experience working in classified environments and handling sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise with Python preferred.
- Experience with GitLab preferred
- Current CSSLP or equivalent certification preferred
- Master's degree
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years supporting the DoD
