Key Highlights
- Lead the Fleet & Production Support stress group, including mentoring, and workload prioritization; serve as a technical lead for the team
- Provide expert structural stress analysis and engineering disposition for fleet sustainment (depot repairs, modifications, inspection findings) and production (build workarounds, design changes)
- Execute detailed structural substantiation and stress analysis for bonded composite and metallic repairs using Patran, CSW, StressCheck, and program specific analysis tools
- Direct the design and sizing of primary structure repairs for non-conformances (NCR); author technical dispositions that ensure compliance with military standards and airworthiness requirements
- Perform, integrate, and document aircraft structural analyses using classical analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools to maintain designed to “fit-form-function”
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- 5+ years’ experience with aerospace stress analysis and/or structural analysis
- Experience with or knowledge of structural design principles for aircraft primary structure (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)
- 5+ years’ experience with aircraft mechanical system design, production, fleet support, or sustaining engineering
- 5+ years’ experience working with structural sizing, and finite element models/simulations using NASTRAN/PATRAN. ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Optistruct, etc
- 10+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to lead reviews and present to senior stakeholders
