Key Highlights
- Apply Human Engineering knowledge and principles to the analysis, design, and evaluation of complex systems
- Define system performance requirements to ensure safe and successful human operation of physical, functional, and program interfaces for all system operators
- Apply human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design of complex systems
- Develop and implement research methodologies and analysis plans to test and evaluate developmental prototypes
- Apply a knowledge of military standards (such as MIL-STD-1472, MIL-STD-1474, MIL-STD-3009, MIL-STD-411F) to meet program requirements
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Cognitive Psychology or other Human Engineering related field of study.
- 3+ years of work experience in Human Engineering or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- Level 3 - Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ or Master’s and 3+ years experience
- Level 4 - Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years’ or Master’s and 7+ years experience
- Associate Certification from Board Certification in Professional Ergonomics or equivalent education
- Understanding of Human System Integration (HSI) in the defense acquisition process
- Knowledge of military standards (such as MIL-STL-1472, MIL-STD-1474, MIL-STD-2525, MIL-STD-3009, MIL-STD 411F, DoDI 5000.95, and JSSG-2010)
- Ability to derive Human Engineering requirements
- Experience supporting defense programs
- Experience in program documentation of the HE processes and products in a format consistent with US Military Data Item Descriptions (e.g. Human Engineering Program Plan, Human Engineering Design Approach Document – Operator, Human Engineering Design Approach Document – Maintainer, Human Engineering Test Plan, Human Engineering Test Report, et. al)
- Experience in working with a multi-discipline engineering team and aircrew operators/pilots
- Experience with the user interface software prototyping tools
- Experience with Usability software
- Knowledge in Human Perception and Cognition
- Experience with Human Performance Modeling and application to crew systems design
- Experience in usability assessments with emphasis on vision, reach, operability
- Experience in workload assessments and situation awareness assessments such as NASA TLX
- Experience in conducting tasks analyses and mapping user workflow
- Ability to evaluate designs against Human Readiness Levels (HRLs)
- Experience in Agile Development
- Previous experience developing style guides and implementing UI design tenets
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
