Job Description

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our team and develop creative solutions for our claims product in an agile environment. This role will accelerate speed to market by addressing current product needs and developing long-term strategic solutions. You will utilize technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, and other potential backend languages. The position involves using cloud services and tools like AWS, Cloud Foundry, and CDNs such as Akamai. You will demonstrate proficiency in multiple object-oriented and functional programming languages, build and implement RESTful services, and employ an open-minded and collaborative approach to create innovative technical solutions. Responsibilities include analyzing technical system problems to design and implement effective, flexible solutions, and handling end-to-end development, including coding, testing, and debugging in each development cycle. You will also develop automated tests across multiple scopes (unit, system, integration, regression) and identify/recommend opportunities for continuous improvement. Domestic travel is required up to 10%, and telecommuting is permitted up to 60%.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems or related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.
  • Developing user interfaces using React.
  • Building server-side applications using Node.
  • Writing scalable and maintainable code using TypeScript.
  • Developing enterprise level applications object-oriented including Java.
  • Building microservices and backend systems using Spring Boot.
  • Knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies, architectural concepts, and principles while utilizing AWS services including Lambdas, EC2, and S3.
  • Experience in the insurance industry domain including property claim.
  • Understanding backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and incremental deliver utilizing the latest version of Scrum guide including Jira.
  • Experience may be gained during graduate program.
  • Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
