Job Description
The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to lead frontend development across our web platforms and hybrid mobile applications. You will own the technical direction of our fan-facing products while managing and mentoring a team of frontend engineers. This role requires deep expertise in React and Next.js, combined with strong leadership skills and a commitment to leveraging AI tools to accelerate team velocity. You will partner with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to deliver performant, accessible, and engaging experiences that connect fans to the sport of lacrosse, from live game experiences to fantasy platforms and beyond.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional frontend development experience with a strong portfolio of shipped products
- Expert-level proficiency in React and TypeScript with a deep understanding of hooks, context, and modern React patterns
- Strong production experience with Next.js, including App Router, server components, and deployment strategies
- Demonstrated daily use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) with the ability to articulate how these tools enhance your productivity
- Experience with MUI, styled-components, or similar styling frameworks
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor engineers and explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
- Passion for sports, fan experiences, and building products that delight users
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with live/real-time data applications (sports, gaming, media) is a plus
