Key Highlights

  • Rapidly prototype interactive features (such as instrument controls and flight-dynamics logic) using C++ and Blueprints.
  • Design modular, testable gameplay frameworks including input handling, state machines and physics.
  • Build in-engine editor extensions and custom data-driven configuration panels to support development workflows.
  • Conduct performance profiling (CPU/GPU, memory) to ensure stability on high-end PCs and Head-Mounted Displays (HMDs).
  • Support automated testing and build pipelines within an Agile CI/CD workflow.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Gameplay or Software Engineer.
  • Expert proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 (C++, Blueprints, Gameplay Framework, and Profiling tools).
  • Proven track record building complex gameplay systems (input, UI, physics, AI, and networked components).
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize performance for desktop and VR/AR platforms (memory management, LOD, and multithreading).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to create technical documentation and runbooks.
  • Applicants must hold Australian Permanent Residency or above
  • Direct experience with flight-simulation or pilot-training domains, including knowledge of avionics or sensor modelling.
  • Familiarity with VR/AR/XR hardware and performance constraints on mobile or iOS devices.
  • Background working in regulated or safety-critical environments (aerospace, automotive, or medical).
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Experience with networked or multiplayer components specifically for simulation or game projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Game Development, or a related field.
