Job Description

This role involves contributing to the research, design, development, and testing of software components within a defined product area. The Software Engineer will collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to transform requirements into effective software solutions, support continuous improvement, and help deliver high-quality products that solve complex business challenges. The position is within the Government vertical of LexisNexis Risk Solutions, assisting government agencies and law enforcement with data insights to improve operational efficiency, program integrity, revenue discovery and recovery, and enhance investigations. The team works on sophisticated web applications, backend systems, data research, and data transformations, utilizing extensive research into LexisNexis public records data and deploying systems to various on-premise and cloud-based environments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Security Clearance: No active clearance required. Must be eligible for TS/SCI.
  • Minimum 3+ years of Software Engineering experience
  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
  • Proficiency with data manipulation languages.
  • Understanding of data modeling and data science principles.
  • Ability to work with very large data and complex data models.
  • Proficiency in development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
  • Familiarity of industry best practices — code coverage.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources.
  • Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Knowledge of data manipulation languages, data storage subsystems and test-driven development.
  • Ability to complete moderately complex bug fixes.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
