Job Description

Join Walmart as a Senior Software Engineer and lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions through collaborative engineering efforts. This role involves full lifecycle development, including design, coding, testing, and deployment of services, APIs, and AI/ML components. You will apply technical expertise to drive innovation, ensure quality, and support continuous improvement while collaborating across teams to meet business objectives. The Fintech Disputes & Exceptions Management Engineering group focuses on resolving payment discrepancies within Walmart’s Finance Tech ecosystem. The team develops and maintains tools that enhance collaboration between internal teams and external suppliers, using automation to reduce manual efforts. Committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence, the group ensures accurate and timely dispute management. Members apply strong technical skills in software development, problem solving, and iterative delivery to build reliable solutions that improve financial processes and support Walmart’s business objectives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Strong technical acumen with experience in cloud-native architecture and continuous development.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver scoped features through iterative and incremental development.
  • Proficiency in code review, debugging, and dev testing to ensure high-quality software.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative artificial intelligence tools.
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Effective collaboration skills to work across teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation within software development lifecycles.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
