Job Description

South College is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations between various software systems and platforms used across the college. The Software Engineer will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, implement integration solutions, and ensure seamless interoperability between systems. Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years proven experience as an Software Engineer, Software Developer, or similar role, with expertise in designing and implementing complex integration solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, or JavaScript, with experience in developing custom APIs and web services.
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns, protocols, and standards (e.g., REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, OAuth).
  • Familiarity with database systems, SQL queries, and data modeling concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working with cloud-based middleware and integration platforms (e.g., Azure Integration Services, Logic Apps, Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus) and ETL tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend).
  • Experience interacting with data layers across both on-premises and cloud environments, including experience working with Data Warehouses (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL Server) and related data storage/retrieval solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience in the education sector or knowledge of academic systems and processes is a plus.
  • Experience as a technical leader working with other IT disciplines
