Job Description
CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer II opening for our client. This role involves performing and overseeing systems analysis, design, development, testing, debugging, and implementation for basic to complex applications. The engineer will serve as a key individual contributor on complex technology projects, maintain a strong functional understanding of supported applications, and coordinate development activities. They will also prepare and manage technical components of project plans, collaborate with various stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle, and develop, review, and execute detailed test plans. Analyzing complex relationships among programs, interfaces, applications, and technology platforms to identify effective technical solutions, preparing clear and thorough technical documentation, and evaluating/recommending technologies are also key aspects of this role. The engineer will promote adherence to development standards, maintain application performance, and identify/escalate technology and risk-related issues. Participation in due diligence and special projects is also expected. The role operates under the direction of the Technology Team Lead while independently handling high-level systems analysis and technical development. It involves managing assigned technical activities, coordinating project work, interacting with senior management and stakeholders, monitoring project activities, and providing technical leadership. Backup support to management may also be required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree and a minimum of 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience.
- Experience with .NET Core, JavaScript, and Azure Cloud Services.
- Familiarity with application development software, hardware platforms, and enterprise technology environments.
- Proficiency with personal computers and common project management, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and lateral-thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting technical information to appropriate audiences.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience coordinating between application development teams and business units.
- Experience recommending and implementing systems solutions.
- Experience driving project milestones, schedules, and delivery dates.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of enterprise application frameworks and development standards.
- Experience serving as a subject matter expert for supported business applications or systems.
- Advanced understanding of supported applications and integrated/interfacing systems.
- Experience working effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to manage multiple components of complex technical projects.
- Action-oriented and proactive approach to problem solving and delivery.
- Broad understanding of application architecture and the ability to contribute to projects beyond normal business-as-usual activities.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
