Job Description
The Software Engineer will serve as a technical lead responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and implementing enterprise-scale data processing and software solutions. The position will lead technical teams and design efforts supporting the management, processing, storage, and retrieval of high-volume, disparate, and near-real-time data. The Software Engineer will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to identify technical needs, develop innovative solutions, resolve complex production issues, and ensure solutions meet mission and user requirements. The role requires strong experience across software engineering, cloud architectures, distributed systems, data platforms, APIs, databases, infrastructure, security, testing, and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). The Software Engineer will also provide technical leadership, customer engagement, project briefings, and strategic technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in software engineering, systems architecture, enterprise architecture, technical leadership, or related technical roles.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale software solutions, cloud architectures, and distributed systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and/or serving in a technical leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated expertise with object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, or similar languages, with experience coding across technology stacks and developing production-quality software.
- Demonstrated experience leading software design discussions and architecture reviews, with practical experience in software architecture, APIs, databases, cloud/infrastructure, testing, security, and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Demonstrated experience engineering integrated technical solutions for disparate, high-volume data types, including streaming data, to support near-real-time operational requirements, including experience with big data technologies and developing scalable data platforms and solutions.
- Demonstrated experience transitioning legacy IT solutions, in whole or in part, to cloud environments, leading and working in cloud environments, and engineering solutions that leverage cloud platform capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience integrating new and modern technologies into existing systems to advance capabilities and meet user, functional, and strategic requirements.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving complex production issues, identifying technical and operational risks, and developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical and business teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A candidate must be a US Citizen and requires an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with technologies and processes used to perform digital data and media forensics.
- Prior experience working with the customer on similar programs.
- Prior experience within the Intelligence Community (IC), particularly supporting counterterrorism missions.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
- Familiarity with software development and deployment using Kubernetes and containerized infrastructure.
- Experience with processing technologies, and/or data platforms.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, distributed computing, data pipelines, and streaming data technologies.
